Nashville
Dallas, with a population of 1.3 million people, is the ninth largest city in the country. The city is known for its Cowboy culture, museums like the Dallas Art Museum and The Nasher Sculpture Center. Here you’ll also find a vibrant food scene with Tex-Mex barbecue all across Dallas. The climate here is considered humid and subtropical during the summers with mild winters. Depending on what time of year you’re here, you may want to watch a Dallas Cowboys game since they are considered America’s team. Washington, D.C
Next up, we’re headed to Washington, D.C., the nation’s capital. This is Washington, D.C., with a population of around 700,000 people and a metro population of 6 million. While here, you can check out the National Mall, where they have the Lincoln Memorial, Washington Monument, and many Smithsonian institutions. Also, the U.S. Capitol and Supreme Court are other popular sites. But if you want to see other stuff besides the National Mall, you can head out around Arlington or even go towards Georgetown. Washington, D.C., sits along the banks of the Potomac River, sharing both Maryland and Virginia. I personally like to go to Alexandria as well as National Harbor. Washington, D.C., has undergone a massive urban rejuvenation and is certainly a place to check out. The climate here is much milder than people actually think. It does get snow in the winter but very rarely, and the summers are quite mild although humid.
Philadelphia
Now, from Washington, D.C., we’re gonna head up the northern seaboard to Philadelphia, the City of Brotherly Love. With a population of 1.6 million, it is the largest city in Pennsylvania. The city played a significant role in American history, as it was the capital of the United States from 1790 to 1800. This is also the birthplace of the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution. While here, you can check out the Liberty Bell and learn more about American history. There’s also a lively culinary scene with cheesesteaks, pretzels, hoagies, and you can go to the terminal market, which is a popular destination for food lovers.
Portland
Now we’re headed back up to the PNW. This here is Portland, Oregon. It does get a bad rap, but it is still a place worth checking out if you’re looking for some beautiful nature. With a population of 660,000 people, it is the 26th largest in the country. Popular things to do here include checking out the creative arts scene, vibrant music, and independent bookstores. People really like to think while here. They have a famous local organic market, artisan products, coffee shops, and microbreweries. Situated along the Columbia River, you can take the river all the way towards the coast, where you will see the beautiful coastline of Oregon. The climate here is mild with rain, warm summers, and cool winters.
Portland
Headed back east, we’re in Hotlanta, also known as Atlanta, Georgia. With 500,000 people living here, it is considered the commerce capital of the South. Atlanta played a significant role in the civil rights movement, and you can check out the Martin Luther King National Historic Site. Also, while here, try some of the food because Chick-fil-A and the Waffle House are famous food chains that come from here. Check out the College Football Hall of Fame, the Olympic Park area, and the Botanical Garden. Atlanta is a very modern city with an interconnected public transport system that includes a subway and streetcars. The temperature here is considered subtropical with very hot summers and mild winters.
Deep South
Now, from the deep South in Atlanta, we’re headed to the Rocky Mountains. This here is Denver, with a population of 720,000 people. It is the largest city in Colorado. While here, you can check out the Denver Art Museum, the Colorado Symphony Orchestra, or go up into the Rocky Mountains. Denver has become a place for microbreweries and excellent bars. Downtown Denver has undergone a massive facelift over the years, and the most popular place is the 16th Street Mall area. Charlotte
Headed out to the Carolinas, this here is Charlotte, located in North Carolina, with 900,000 people. It is the largest city in the Carolinas. There is a rich history here dating back to the American Revolution. While here, you can check out the Mint Museum, The Bachelor Museum of Modern Art, and also the NASCAR Museum. So I hope you guys like fast cars. It is called the Queen City because it’s named after Queen Charlotte of Mecklenburg-Strelitz, the consort of King George III. Southern hospitality is alive and well here in Charlotte, and I really hope you guys like barbecue because that’s the kind of cuisine you’re going to get out here. It’s world-famous, actually—Carolina Barbecue. The climate here is considered subtropical, with mild winters and hot, humid summers.
Austin
Next up, we’re headed back out to Texas. This time we’re in Austin, with a population of one million people. This is the 11th largest city in the United States. Some people end up out here for the South by Southwest Festival, but there are many festivals, and along with Nashville, this is also considered one of the premier music cities in the country. You will find Texas barbecue, Tex-Mex cuisine as well, and if you go up and down the river here, you have Lady Bird Lake located right here in the heart of downtown Austin. Texas is becoming one of the Silicon Valleys of Texas as it has become a technology hub. They have hot, humid summers and mild winters.
Tampa
Next up, we’re headed to Tampa. Now, Tampa Bay Metro includes Sarasota and Tampa Bay as well as Clearwater. While here, you can check out the beautiful beaches, go to Honeymoon Island State Park, and you can also hang out in Ybor City, which is a mix of Spanish, Cuban, and Italian influences. Then you have the downtown area right along the riverfront, and you have many different restaurants that you can dine at. The Tampa Bay area is one of the up-and-coming areas of all of America, considered in the top five by many rankings. The weather here is very hot in the summers and extremely mild in the winters.
Las Vegas
From tropical Florida, we’re headed to the Mojave Desert out here in Las Vegas, Nevada, with a population of 650,000 people. It is considered the casino capital of the world, and world-famous casinos like the Bellagio, Caesars Palace, and MGM Grand are all here. While in Las Vegas, be sure to walk the four-mile stretch known as the Las Vegas Strip, head down to Fremont Street, and enjoy all of the resorts that you can. Las Vegas does get cold winters and very hot summers, so that’s something to keep in mind. Aside from casinos, you can expect to hang out at the pool during the summer months because it’s going to be so hot you’re going to want to beat that heat. Best food scene in the United States right here—if you’re a foodie, you’re going to love Las Vegas.
Baltimore
Next up, we’re headed out to Chesapeake Bay. This here is Baltimore, Maryland, with a population of 600,000 people. Some popular things to do are hang out around the Inner Harbor area, where they have many different restaurants, the National Aquarium, the Maryland Science Center, as well as the American Visionary Art Museum. Popular seafood here is going to include steamed blue crabs, which are considered a local specialty, so do try that, as well as Phillips Seafood, Jimmy’s Famous Seafood, and Faidley Seafood. This is a really popular thing to do while visiting Baltimore.
Orlando
Minneapolis
Next up we’re headed north to the Great Lakes this here is the Twin Cities known as Minneapolis St Paul, while here you will find many different lakes, they have over 200 parks and 22 lakes within the city. You can find the Walker Arts Center, Minneapolis Institute of Art, so a big art scene here, as well as First Avenue, which is going to have the First Avenue nightclub, and the movie Purple Rain was filmed here. Many people like to go to the Mall of America because Minneapolis gets extremely cold winters, so going to the mall is a great idea. Summers here can be humid and hot though, so keep that in mind. Because of those harsh winters, they have their downtown area interconnected by pathways where you don’t actually have to step outside into that frozen tundra.
